Why is an UP Craftsmen Feasibility Study a Good Idea
An UP Craftsmen ADU Feasibility Study looks at every aspect of a fundamental ADU built on a flat lot, including the setback and zoning requirements, in order to identify the ADU’s buildability. This includes a map of all currently operating utilities, including sewer, water, gas, and electricity. This evaluation aids us in locating your ADU in a location that won’t necessitate extensive utility rerouting and, ideally, eliminates long utility runs to connect to the existing lines. A utility study evaluates all these utilities’ expenses, including those associated with their installation, connection, upkeep, and removal. Access is also evaluated to make sure that we will be able to travel to the ADU construction site with our equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
Do you know whether your property is suitable for an ADU?
The topic of “pre-built” ADUs has received a lot of attention recently. Unfortunately, there are a lot of locations where a ready-made solution is either unnecessary or impractical. You will need a custom design if you are in Washington, DC or Montgomery County. There are probably several different ways to go about this project. We can help with that!
Understanding a site’s challenges is the first step in our design approach, followed by identifying the project’s prospects and potential. Once we have completed a feasibility study, we can use the information collected to put together a full proposal for design and build services, if you decide you want to move forward.
Are architects required for an ADU feasibility study?
The quick response is “yes”. Based on ADU regulations, building codes, and design principles, an architect can assist you in determining what is feasible on your site. Depending on the kind of property you own and the kind of ADU you want to develop, we provide two distinct choices for feasibility studies:
OPTION A– SITE VISIT
Free service for all prospective customers
The potential for development of the property will be discussed with you on the spot or over the phone with UP Craftsmen when we see your property.
We’ll send a summary of our conversation via email.
This option is appropriate for single-family homes. Even while it doesn’t involve any in-depth code analyses, diagrams, or discussions with permitting offices, it might still assist you to decide whether it’s worthwhile to proceed with the project.
OPTION B – SITE VISIT AND REPORT
$500 cost with money refunded if project moves forward with Up Craftsmen
- UP Craftsmen will visit your property and speak with you on the phone or in person about the property’s possibilities for development.
- A written report will be delivered to you via email as a follow-up.
- We’ll show a graphic showing potential places for ADU additions along with rough square footage estimates. These illustrations will just depict the general footprint rather than complete floor plans.
- If necessary, we will get in touch with local municipalities to discuss important questions about viability.
- We will evaluate the deliverables with you during a wrap up video session and address any questions you may have.
This option is useful for owners who want more detailed information about a potential project who might need to share it with business partners, contractors or a real estate agent.
